How often should I service my bike?

It depends on how often your bike gets used and how you use it. We recommend having your bike serviced on a yearly basis to ensure the best riding experience. Of course, if you're really packing on the miles or spending a lot of time on the trail, your bike may require multiple services.

Why do you offer free inspections?

We offer to inspect every bike that comes in for service for free so we can not only quote you more accurately but also provide the most professional experience in the area! Once we have completed the inspection on your bike we will email the report with a quote to repair everything we noticed. This quote will also include the date your bike is scheduled for repair.

Do I need an appointment?

You never need an appointment to bring your bike into The Hub Bicycles, but we need to see your bike before we can work on it. However, inspection appointments can help your bike move through our service center faster. At our busiest, we can take in up to 16 bikes each day which creates quite the backlog. If you make an inspection appt on our website 48 hours before you plan on bringing your bike in you will move through our process more efficiently once you drop off your bike. If you are in a rush or would rather not have a full inspection done, just let us know what service you want done to your bike and we will get it in the schedule!

How long does it take to get my bike tuned up?

It depends on how much work your bike needs. Minor repairs like tube/ tire changes, gear/ brake adjustments, chain replacements, etc. can usually be done on the spot or within the business day. Major repairs like our Level 2 or 3 tune ups or suspension service will need to be scheduled. Either way, we strive to provide the highest quality of service while keeping our turn-around times as short as possible. We realize that many of you do not mind leaving the bike with us for a couple of days, and others would like to get the bike back ASAP. If you use your bike as a daily commuter or need to rack up those training miles, reach out to us and we will do what we can to accommodate.

How do I know what my bike needs?

Any time you bring in a bicycle for service, a highly trained service professional will put your bike in a stand and go over it with you. We will ask you if you are having any specific issues with the bike, as well as other questions such as, 'Where do you do most of your riding?' This helps us know what parts of the bike you want us to pay the most attention to, as well as routine maintenance for specific types of bikes (we're looking at you gravel bikes!) No matter what, we will let you know what services will be best for your bike so that you can focus on the riding!

How much will my repair cost?

That depends on what type of service you need (our inspection helps with this). Whenever you bring your bike in, we will walk you through the entire check-in and inspection process. We will tell you what your bike needs right now, and what may give you problems in the future. And we can always re-work the quote if there are any reservations about cost, turnaround time, etc. Rest assured, when we give you a quote, we will not charge you differently without your consent (this is why it's so important for you to leave a good e-mail address and phone number to contact you in the event something pops up).

What about getting a tire/flat fixed?

Typically we can fix a flat or replace a tire on the spot for you. This process usually only takes 5-15 minutes depending on the bike, however, in the middle of a busy day we may ask if you would like to run a quick errand (we're right in the center of Athens and very close to a lot of good restaurants).

Do you work on all bikes?

Yes! We can work on all brands of bicycles and can repair around 99% of things that come into the shop (some brands have proprietary parts that we might not be able to get which can make the repair difficult).

When we pick up your bike, we will take it to our fully certified repair center, where a service specialist will inspect it at no cost to you. We then email you a copy of the inspection report and our suggestions, along with a quote. Once you approve the work, we will fix your bike. And then?
